Planning
The firm routinely works with clients to plan for:
- Distribution of assets at death using wills, trusts, and other options
- Potential disability using powers of attorney for finances and health care
- End of life decisions using living wills
- Future ownership and operation of businesses
- Carrying out charitable objectives using trusts, foundations, and other options
Administration of Trusts and Estates
In addition to preparing estate and inheritance tax returns for the estates of deceased persons, GSRM assists:
- Trustees in administering trusts
- Guardians in administering court supervised estates of minors
- Conservators in administering court supervised estates of disabled adults
- Personal representatives in administering estates of deceased persons
Probate Court
GSRM represents personal representatives, trustees, guardians, conservators, and beneficiaries in probate court. We also represent individuals and businesses as claimants in probate court.
Tax Issues
The firm represents and advises clients concerning tax controversies that arise. We also work with clients to analyze and minimize potential tax consequences of estate planning options they are considering.
Pre-Nuptial and Post-Nuptial Agreements
GSRM represents and advises clients concerning pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements to protect and preserve the rights and assets of interested persons in the event of a termination of marriage by divorce or death.
