Marcy E. Shelton has practiced law in the state of Tennessee for two decades. Her practice encompasses real estate and secured transactions.

Marcy represents individuals, families and business owners in real estate and personal property transactions. On behalf of such clients, whether they are buying or selling, she negotiates contracts, prepares title documents and facilitates closings of sales and purchases in addition to consummating loan transactions. Marcy has acted as local counsel for regional and national lenders in commercial transactions securing assets in all loan amounts. Throughout her career, her practice has involved facilitating loans for locally owned shops and businesses, hotels and shopping centers.

Marcy’s client base includes companies who have developed residential or office condominium regimes under the newly enacted Tennessee Condominium Act of 2008 and landlords and tenants in regard to commercial and residential matters.

Marcy’s practice requires her to represent her clients in court proceedings in certain cases including writ of certiorari appeals from local zoning boards, easement matters and title disputes, as well as representing lenders in foreclosure sales.

Marcy frequently speaks to legal and non-legal groups on various topics related to her areas of practice.

Marcy received her B.A. degree in English from the University of Tennessee with High Honors and her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was a member of the Tennessee Law Review.

A native of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Marcy now resides with her family in Brentwood, Tennessee, where she is currently a member of the Brentwood Noon Rotary Club. Prior to that, she served as President of the Franklin Rotary Club at Noon.
