Matt Scanlan is an attorney whose practice is dedicated to protecting clients’ interests before the state and local governments. He has extensive experience lobbying on behalf of a variety of clients before the Tennessee General Assembly.
Prior to joining GSRM, Matt was the Deputy General Counsel for the Tennessee Department of Health, where he advised the Board of Medical Examiners, Board of Dentistry, and many other health-related boards on their legal responsibilities. He also was responsible for a team of five lawyers who conducted disciplinary actions against healthcare professionals. Matt has been in private practice and also served as an attorney for the Department of Legal Services in the Tennessee General Assembly.
Matt also is involved in a number of regulatory cases before the Department of Health and other state agencies. He has advised numerous physicians on issues related to the formation of practices and has assisted several physicians in obtaining Office-Based Surgery Certifications from the Board of Medical Examiners. Matt has extensive experience in representing healthcare clients before state agencies.
