Although involved from time to time in other practice fields, Jack’s practice is devoted primarily to estate planning and probate administration. He counsels with clients on all facets in those fields, prepares documentation, and appears in court.
Jack was a member of the Tennessee Commission to study probate laws, authorized by the General Assembly in 1995, and which resulted in law revisions. He served as the Commission’s reporter. He also was a founding member of the Tennessee Probate Study Group.
He is a co-author of the last four editions (since 1983) of Pritchard on Wills and Administration of Estates, a recognized treatise of three volumes on Tennessee probate law. Jack has written articles and made presentations on probate-related subjects. He also is listed in Best Lawyers in America® for his Trusts and Estates practice.
