Mary Taylor Gallagher is a member of GSRM’s Litigation Section. Her practice focuses on the representation of railroad, transportation, healthcare and other businesses in the defense of labor and employment, medical malpractice, toxic tort, premises liability and personal injury lawsuits. Mary Taylor’s labor and employment experience includes non-competition agreements, EEOC discrimination charges, Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, § 1981, § 1983 and USERRA lawsuits. Mary Taylor has argued orally before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and Tennessee Court of Appeals, and authored briefs before the Tennessee Supreme Court. She has tried jury and nonjury cases in State and Federal Court in Tennessee.
Mary Taylor received her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board and Wagner Labor Law Moot Court Team and a recipient of the H.L. Hendricks Memorial Scholarship. She received a bachelor’s degree in History, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia.
Mary Taylor is a member of the American, Tennessee and Nashville Bar Associations. She serves as the president of the Nashville Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division. She is an active member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel, serving on the legislative committee. She is a member of the Employment Law Committee of the Defense Research Institute. She also is a member of the Tennessee Lawyers’ Association for Women and Lawyers’ Association for Women, Marion Griffin Chapter.
