Rhea Bucy is an attorney whose practice is dedicated to business Chapter 11 cases, workouts and commercial litigation generally, as well as real estate and commercial transactions.
He was admitted to practice in Tennessee in 1973, following his graduation from the Vanderbilt University School of Law. Rhea is a former chair and director of the Tennessee Bar Association's Bankruptcy Law Section. He is a past director of the Nashville Bar Association, and a past chair of its Bankruptcy Court Committee. Rhea is a past president and a former director of the Mid-South Commercial Law Institute. He frequently serves as a faculty member for continuing legal education programs concerning bankruptcy and commercial law, and is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute.
Rhea served as the managing partner of Gullett Sanford Robinson & Martin PLLC from 1994 to 1999. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® and Mid-South Super Lawyers for his creditor-debtor rights practice. He also was appointed to the Merit Selection Panel to assist the Sixth Circuit Judicial Council with recommending candidates to two bankruptcy judgeships in the Middle District of Tennessee.
